The first Sunday of November I worked at a Peace Corps booth in another volunteer’s site in my region with three other girls. There was a small festival and the volunteer who lived in a small village right outside of town coordinated a space with the city hall.
For two hours we rotated a group of about eighty children (mostly in either the pre-school or 10-15 year old range) among the four of us. We taught them about hygiene, nutrition, the dangers of smoking and my section was about oral hygiene.
The third hour we united the group and put on a presentation about trash education and the dangers of burning plastic.
On the whole, it was a successful event. The major downside of the even was that we thought it was happening Thursday, but that was not the case… and we had to wait until Sunday morning. Oh, misinformation! But, it happened and we were satisfied with the results so all is well.

Oh Courtney. You're awesome. Brush those teeth kids!
